Our Story

Jones Farm is more than just a venue—it’s a vision of community, hospitality, and craftsmanship, built from the ground up with hard work, faith, and a deep love for the land. What started as a dream to create a peaceful retreat outside of Nashville has grown into a thriving hub of businesses, events, and experiences that bring people together.

The Beginning

Layton Jones, a Mississippi native, grew up in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, where life revolved around faith, family, hard work, and the great outdoors. He attended Ole Miss University as a Business & Journalism major and played as a Tight End on the football team before being recruited to play professional football in Poland. His time abroad gave him a new perspective, but ultimately, his Southern roots called him home.

After returning, Layton settled in Nashville, building a career in real estate and land development. It was during this time that he found a forgotten piece of land on New Hope Rd—overgrown, run down, but full of potential. He envisioned a place where people could escape the fast pace of daily life, reconnect with nature, and truly relax.

With his own hands, he began transforming the land. Under a tight timeline, he built out the first event space, and in the fall of 2022, the first wedding at Jones Farm took place—his own, when he and his wife, Ashla, said “I do.” That same year, he dedicated the land to the Lord and the local community, knowing this place would be more than just a business—it would be a home for celebrations, connections, and Southern hospitality at its finest.

Growth & Expansion

In 2023, Jones Farm began to take shape as a multi-faceted business. Layton and Ashla started renting out the cabins on the property, and they hosted their first weddings and events. But the vision for Jones Farm was always bigger than just a venue.

At the same time, they launched a lumber sales business, selling Eastern White Pine, which can be found in all of the buildings at Jones Farm. This high-quality lumber became a signature of the farm, used in everything from event spaces to the cozy cabins that guests retreat to after a long day.

Then, in January 2024, Kara joined the team, bringing over a decade of event experience to Jones Farm. With her expertise, the farm expanded its wedding and event offerings, hosting six weddings and quarterly community events that year.

But 2024 was only the beginning.

In the summer of 2024, Layton and Ashla welcomed their baby girl, Delta into the world. Just a week later, they opened the doors to The Saloon, Jones Farm’s on-site restaurant. What started as a small dream quickly became a gathering place for the local community, offering farm-fresh Southern food, live music, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

That fall, The Saloon became a hub for the community, hosting live music nights, special gatherings, and Free Food Sundays, where no one in need would go hungry.

By the end of 2024, Jones Farm expanded even further with the launch of a development business, offering land clearing, landscaping, and handyman services—a natural extension of the work already happening on the property.

And later that year, they opened the General Store, providing a place for cabin guests to stock up on essentials, buy handmade goods from local artisans, and for locals to grab a little piece of Jones Farm to take home.

Looking Ahead: 2025 & Beyond

As Jones Farm continues to grow, the vision remains the same: to create a place where people can celebrate life’s biggest moments and where the local community feels at home.

In 2025, Jones Farm is looking to expand its reach, continuing to help people celebrate life’s most important moments while serving as a hub for the local community. From weddings and private events to community gatherings and local business partnerships, the goal is simple: bring people together, build lasting memories, and continue to grow Jones Farm as a place of connection, craftsmanship, and hospitality.

    Husband, father, entrepreneur, and believer with a heart for building meaningful experiences. As the founder of Jones Farm, he’s passionate about creating a place where people can gather, celebrate, and connect with nature and one another. Guided by faith and driven by purpose, Layton continues to grow Jones Farm into something bigger than himself—an unforgettable destination rooted in Southern hospitality.

  • Kara Trotter Event and Property Coordinator at Jones Farm

    Kara is the Event & Property Manager at Jones Farm, bringing over 10 years of experience in the event and hospitality industry. With a degree in Public Relations and Event Management from Austin Peay State University, she combines her expertise and passion to create unforgettable experiences for every guest. From weddings to retreats, Kara’s attention to detail and dedication to excellence ensure every event runs seamlessly. As a key part of Jones Farm, she also oversees property operations, maintaining its reputation as a premier destination. Kara’s love for creating memorable moments makes her an invaluable leader on our team.

  • Deacon

    Meet Deacon, the four-legged ambassador of Jones Farm. With his chocolate coat, wagging tail, and signature charm, Deacon is always ready to greet guests with a smile. Whether he’s lounging by the pond, keeping an eye on farm life, or stealing a snack (and hearts) at events, he’s an essential part of the Jones Farm experience. If you see him around, be sure to give him a belly rub—he’s always up for making new friends!

  • Ashla & Delta Jones

    Ashla is the queen of calm in the chaos and the glue that keeps the Jones crew grounded. She’s Layton’s better half, Delta’s biggest fan, and always the first to lend a helping hand with a smile. And Delta? She’s the tiniest (and cutest) boss on the farm—spreading sunshine, stealing hearts, and keeping everyone on their toes. Together, they bring love, laughter, and a whole lot of charm to life at Jones Farm.
